Baby faced attacker of Good Samaritan

Staffordshire Police have released an Efit of a baby faced member of the gang that attacked a good Samaritan van driver outside Drayton Manor Park at around 9pm on Friday August 3.

The van driver was talking to the apparently distressed man who was faking illness when an accomplice climbed into the vehicle and hit him in the face.

The 37-year old driver was pulled from his vehicle and robbed of his wallet and watch.

Fortunately, a passing motorist slowed down and the attackers ran away towards Fazeley following the incident which happened at around 9pm on Friday, 13 August in Coleshill Road.

Detective Constable Richard Williams said:

“The e-fit has been put together following detailed interviews with the victim and we hope someone will be able to put a name to this young man.

“This was a cowardly assault on a driver who had stopped and acted as a Good Samaritan when he thought this individual was in trouble. Fortunately, he is now making a good recovery.”

The e-fit is of the man who flagged down the driver. He was white, aged 17-18 years, 5’8” tall, of skinny build with a ‘baby face.’ He had short, dark, spiky hair and was wearing a red t-shirt and dark trousers and spoke with a local accent.

His accomplice was also white, in his late 20’s, 5’10” tall, stocky build, short, scruffy, mousey hair and grubby looking with dirty hands. He was wearing a light blue Adidas top with white stripes down the sleeves

Police are urging anyone who was in the area and who saw anything suspicious, to contact DC Richard Williams, telephone 0300 123 44 55, quoting crime reference XA/58813 or, call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
