Tamworth Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in which a 15-year old youth was punched to the ground by two men.
The incident happened at around 10:15pm on Sunday 22 August as the youth was walking along an alleyway which links Litton and Sparfield in Wilnecote.
He was approached by two men who asked him for a cigarette, searched him and then, without warning, punched him to the head.
The youth fell to the ground and suffered swelling and bruising to his face and neck.
The two attackers are both thought to have local accents. One is in his early 20’s, around six feet tall, with very short hair, a very thin build and wearing a dark tracksuit.

His accomplice was older, between 35 and 45 years, bigger build with tattoos on both arms. He was dressed in dark jeans and a dark T shirt.
“This was an unprovoked attack on a young man as he walked home and it is important we trace these offenders,”
said investigating officer, PC Claire Goodridge
