When Roy Orbison died in 1988, the music world lost an immense talent.
But his music remains as vital as ever and next week, it will be brought to vivid life on stage at Tamworth Assembly Rooms by tribute act Barry Steele.
Roy Orbison and Friends 75 Special is a fantastic celebration of the music and character of the Big O. At the centre of the performance is Barry Steele, who performed to rave reviews in the hit show Rockin’ On Heaven’s Door.
Barry looks and sounds like Roy Orbison, complete with his trademark dark glasses. He will be performing all the Big O’s hits, including Only The Lonely, O Pretty Woman, In Dreams and Crying, at Tamworth Assembly Rooms on Saturday February 4.
Barry will be backed by his own fabulous five piece show band, who will also perform hits from The Shadows, Jerry Lee Lewis and many more. There will also be a special appearance by special guest Marc J Robinson as Buddy Holly.
Tickets for this ultimate musical experience are priced at £18 and are available from Tamworth Information Centre in Corporation Street or by calling the Box Office on 01827 709618. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30 start.
