Babies born at Good Hope Hospital will be weighed with brand new high-precision scales thanks to a generous donation from Baby Lifeline.
The charity has made its first presentation of maternity and special care baby equipment to the unit since its vice president BBC presenter Nick Owen launched its £250,000 appeal for Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, which covers Heartlands and Solihull Hospitals, as well as Good Hope, at the end of last year.
Trust Chairman Lord Philip Hunt accepted the 12 scales from Founder of Baby Lifeline, Judy Ledger. They include three high specification scales for the delivery suites at the three hospitals, as well as seven with carrying cases for community use.
Head of midwifery Joy Payne said:
“We are absolutely thrilled with the equipment donated to us by Baby Lifeline and their supporters which will make such a difference to the mothers and babies in our care.”
