Most underage drinking is caused by the out of town shopping sheds, selling vast quantities of cut-price lager to people who pass it on to the underage.

But that's what you get when controlled drinking environments like pubs are attacked by the government with hikes in duty, whilst a blind eye is turned to the supermarkets that donate to the political parties.

What's needed is 2 separate strands of duty, low for a controlled drinking environment like a pub, and very high for 'take out booze' that comes from supermarkets.

The government did a similar thing with the 'pasty tax', so it proves it can be done. But would the politicians want to loose all that supermarket donated cash for the ever more US style election campaigns ... Nope.

@Rob

It was the Tamworth Rock Festival, in the later years the Council changed its name to the Tamworth Free Festival (Free Fest) ... It ran from 1978 until 2007/08.

The biggest act to come from it is arguably Wolfsbane, who's singer went on to front Iron Maiden.

"Push for further outdoor events supporting our communities."

Return of the 'Free Fest' would be nice.

"Returned our outdoor events to the Castle Grounds."

No 'Free Fest' though, that was axed in 2009.

Fantastic work from the emergency services. I heard the crash and by the time I'd discovered where it had come from (a matter of a few short minutes) I could see from a distance police and ambulance crews there already. What great work they do!

When the track was first spoken about years ago I envisaged a muddy track across an unkept piece of land. What has been provided is absolutely not a muddy track, it is fantastic, what a super facility for the families of Tamworth. It made me feel proud for our Town.
Well done to the everyone who has contributed, worked and fought for then finally delivered an absolutely superb facility.
